A wonderful journey through ecosystem life in a 5 days 5 nights camp that combines fun games, outdoor activities and natural science experiments into a learning experience meant to enhance nature connection and respect for the environment.
Naturjuwel Feldmühle is a beautiful piece of untouched floodplain landscape between the Traisen river and the Mühlbach, just north of Ratzersdorfer See. It is home for a big diversity of flora and fauna, including meadow flowers, reed and cattail, a variety of trees, frogs, newts, beetles, butterflies and 67 different species of birds. The neighboring area of the Viehofner Lakes is a habitat for rare birds and 15 different dragonfly species and a large recreational space.
Startin on July 25th and for four weeks following the lead of us Nature Guides, a big group of kids and teens is going to explore this amazing location for an incredible outdoor adventure: an exciting chance to reconcile with nature and learn about it with an hands-on approach.
And as usual we will make it FUN!
Our camp focuses on the concept of ecosystem and its components. What is an ecosystem? How do the elements interact with each other? Our students will learn about nature through observation, fun games and creative activities.
In the mornings it’s always time for adventure - we go out in the wilderness and explore. Afternoons are reserved for nature journaling, followed by leisurely activities at the lake, while in the evening we have a lot of fun activities on campus, like bush crafting or camp fire. We finish the week with an exceptional unique Treasure Hunt challenge.

The outdoor classroom provides us with an environment where free play is a central element, while freedom contributes to develop confidence, self-esteem, autonomy and character development.
XXI Century Youth Skills
The UN celebrates on July 15th every year the World Youth Skills Day. One might ask: why? Do youth skills have a similar importance as e.g. the eradication of poverty? This short article argues that youth skills are the very foundation for the eradication for almost all miseries our world suffers from.
